Infrastructure supporting Bitcoin BEP2—Binance’s pegged bitcoin token on Binance Chain—recorded the highest development activity among BSC-related projects in the past 30 days, with 57 notable GitHub events, according to blockchain analytics firm Santiment.
The finding places bitcoin bridging mechanisms ahead of native BSC projects like Flux and BNB in terms of developer engagement, though questions remain about how pegged assets compare to standalone development projects.
According to the report, BEP2 recorded 57.43 notable GitHub events over the past 30 days, cementing its position as the most active project on BSC. Following closely, Flux, a decentralized cloud platform ranked second with 212 recorded development events. Binance’s flagship token, BNB, secured third place with 17.47 development events.
Other projects in the top 10, such as Zcash continued steady activity due to ongoing security and privacy improvements while Trust Wallet maintained developer engagement as it expands cross chain integrations and wallet functionalities. Dusk also remained active in zero knowledge and regulated finance initiatives.
The rankings included Band Protocol, Beefy Finance, 0x Protocol and Saito, showing a diverse range of sectors from DeFi yield optimization to privacy, cloud computing and blockchain networking. Santiment noted that Bitcoin BEP2 and other top projects have climbed the rankings based on meaningful development events rather than vanity metrics like forks or commits.
Santiment’s analysis highlights that Bitcoin BEP2 development is not only strong but distributed across multiple key areas of the BSC ecosystem including cryptocurrency infrastructure, Binance native assets and protocol governance.
