Crypto investment products recorded a fourth consecutive week of withdrawals totalling $173 million, according to CoinShares data released Monday, pushing cumulative outflows over the past month to approximately $3.8 billion and dragging total assets under management to their lowest level since April 2025.

The renewed Crypto ETPs outflow comes amid broader crypto price weakness, macroeconomic uncertainty and diverging investor sentiment between the United States and other regions.

Bitcoin briefly fell to $65,000 last week after starting near $70,000, amplifying redemption pressure across exchange-traded products (ETPs).

Bitcoin leads latest Crypto ETPs outflow

Bitcoin-linked funds accounted for the majority of last week’s Crypto ETPs outflow, with $133.3 million exiting Bitcoin products alone. AUM tied to Bitcoin ETPs declined to roughly $106 billion, reflecting sustained caution among institutional investors.

James Butterfill, Head of Research at CoinShares, attributed the ongoing Crypto ETPs outflow to prevailing market conditions.

“Broad market negativity and ongoing price weakness have weighed on sentiment,” — James Butterfill, Head of Research, CoinShares.

In the United States, spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) experienced even heavier redemptions.

Data from SoSoValue shows U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded nearly $360 million in outflows last week, highlighting intensified selling pressure in the world’s largest investment market.

Ether-focused funds mirrored the broader Crypto ETPs outflow trend, shedding $85 million globally.

However, U.S. spot Ether ETFs saw modest inflows of $10 million, suggesting some selective positioning despite overall caution.

The sustained Crypto ETPs outflow aligns with recent price volatility. According to market data from Coinbase, Bitcoin dropped from around $70,000 at the start of the week to approximately $65,000 by Thursday before stabilizing.

Regional divergence amid Crypto ETPs outflow

While U.S. products drove much of the recent Crypto ETPs outflow, other jurisdictions posted notable inflows. CoinShares data indicates that non-U.S. regions collectively attracted $230 million last week.

Germany led regional gains with $115 million in inflows, followed by Canada with $46 million and Switzerland with $37 million.

The divergence suggests that while U.S. investors are trimming exposure, some international markets are selectively adding positions during periods of weakness.

Butterfill emphasized this split in sentiment, noting a “significant divergence” between U.S. and overseas flows.

The regional contrast highlights how macroeconomic expectations, regulatory clarity and local investor appetite may be shaping the broader Crypto ETPs outflow narrative.

XRP and Solana defy Crypto ETPs outflow trend

Despite the broader Crypto ETPs outflow, certain digital assets attracted fresh capital. XRP ETPs led weekly inflows with $33.4 million, followed closely by Solana products with $31 million.

The inflows into XRP and Solana suggest that investors may be rotating within the digital asset ecosystem rather than exiting entirely.

While flagship assets like Bitcoin and Ether faced redemption pressure, selected alternative tokens appear to be capturing tactical allocations.

The overall market backdrop remains fragile. Analysts at Standard Chartered last week lowered their 2026 Bitcoin price target from $150,000 to $100,000 and projected a potential near-term decline toward $50,000 before recovery.

Such forecasts may be contributing to cautious positioning and the ongoing Crypto ETPs outflow.

Market sentiment remains fragile

With four straight weeks of withdrawals, the sustained Crypto ETPs outflow reflects a cooling phase following earlier enthusiasm for regulated crypto investment products.

Although recent weekly losses of $173 million and $187 million appear moderate compared to historical swings, cumulative redemptions of $3.8 billion over a month underscore persistent investor caution.

Total AUM now standing near $133 billion signals reduced institutional exposure compared with earlier peaks.

For crypto investors, the direction of future Crypto ETPs outflow will likely hinge on macroeconomic clarity, price stabilization and evolving expectations around monetary policy.

Whether the recent inflows into select altcoin products represent early signs of renewed risk appetite or merely short-term positioning remains uncertain.

For now, the sustained Crypto ETPs outflow highlights a market still grappling with volatility, recalibrated price expectations and divergent regional sentiment across global investment platforms.
