Ethena deploys $2B in stablecoin liquidity on new Plasma mainnet

Ethena stablecoin expansion has reached Plasma as Ethena Labs deployed USDe and sUSDe on the network making them core dollar assets within the new Layer 1’s DeFi ecosystem from launch.

On Sept. 25, Ethena introduced USDe and sUSDe alongside Plasma’s mainnet beta which opened with over $2 billion in stablecoin liquidity and more than 100 integrations. This milestone marks another chapter in the Ethena stablecoin expansion strategy across major chains.

Aave launch with Liquid Leverage

Plasma’s debut included Aave integrating Ethena stablecoin expansion assets through its Liquid Leverage markets offering $500 million of USDe and $450 million of sUSDe deposit capacity. The pools are supported by USDT liquidity inflows from Binance Earn.

Depositors of USDe and sUSDe on Aave can also earn Ethena Points while leverage rewards are claimable via Merkl. Beyond Aave, the Ethena stablecoin expansion extended access to Curve, Balancer and Fluid from day one with Pendle yield products set to follow soon.

Ethena’s rapid cross chain expansion

The Ethena stablecoin expansion on Plasma builds on a strong cross chain growth strategy. Earlier this month, USDe and sUSDe went live on Avalanche with AVAX rewards and integrated into the Optimism Superchain via OVaults.

In parallel, Ethena raised $530 million through Stablecoin X and launched MegaUSD with MegaETH pushing USDe supply close to $14 billion. These moves highlight how the Ethena stablecoin expansion continues to fuel adoption across top tier ecosystems.

Plasma’s stablecoin native approach

Plasma is marketing itself as a stablecoin native Layer 1 with sub second finality and Bitcoin secured DeFi. Backed by Bitfinex, Bybit, Paolo Ardoino and Peter Thiel, the chain entered the market with a $10 billion fully diluted valuation for its native token.

By embedding USDe and sUSDe across Aave, Curve, Balancer, Fluid and soon Pendle, the Ethena stablecoin expansion is anchoring early adoption of the Plasma ecosystem.
