The Play Solana gaming device is set to debut this October, with the project confirming that its first handheld console, the Play Solana Gen 1 (PSG1), will begin shipping on October 6—marking a major step for Web3 gaming innovation.
The Play Solana Gen 1 (PSG1) comes equipped with cutting edge features tailored to both gamers and crypto enthusiasts. It boasts an octa core ARM processor, 8GB of RAM, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and a responsive touch LCD display. What sets the Play Solana gaming device apart is its built in hardware wallet and fingerprint authentication allowing users to securely store crypto assets while enjoying their favorite games.
To celebrate the upcoming release, Play Solana also introduced a limited NFT collection. This exclusive offering gives 2,000 holders early access to the Play Solana gaming device and special perks within the ecosystem.

The device provided access to native Web3 tools including a Seed Vault, the Solana Mobile Stack and a decentralized app store all optimized for Solana users.
The Saga’s debut sparked a range of reactions but ultimately achieved a successful launch in 2023. The phone’s popularity soared with some units of the Saga fetching up to $5,000 on secondary markets thanks in part to a free BONK memecoin airdrop. Originally priced at $599, the Saga set the stage for Solana’s hardware ambitions.
In 2024, Solana Mobile introduced a second generation phone emphasizing that it would be more than just a “memecoin phone.” By 2025, the device had garnered 150,000 pre-orders thereby generating an estimated $67.5 million in revenue. On August 5, Solana Mobile began shipping the Seeker phone to over 50 countries further cementing Solana’s presence in the hardware space.
The Play Solana gaming device isn’t the only Web3 handheld making headlines. The Sui blockchain network has also entered the arena with Mysten Labs announcing the SuiPlay0X1 handheld gaming device integrated with the Sui network and set for release in the first half of 2025.
