Anthropic has closed a $30 billion Series G funding round that values the Claude-maker at $380 billion, cementing its position as the most highly valued private AI company outside OpenAI — hours after which Elon Musk took to X to publicly accuse the company’s flagship model of racial and gender bias.

Responding directly to Anthropic’s announcement on X, Musk wrote: “Your AI hates Whites & Asians, especially Chinese, heterosexuals and men. This is misanthropic and evil. Fix it.” — Elon Musk, CEO, Tesla and X.

Anthropic has not publicly responded to requests for comment regarding Musk’s remarks.

Anthropic’s Series G round was co-led by D. E. Shaw Ventures, Dragoneer, Founders Fund, ICONIQ, and MGX, with participation from Sequoia Capital, BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, JPMorganChase, Temasek, the Qatar Investment Authority, and other institutional investors. A portion of the funding includes previously disclosed investments from Microsoft and NVIDIA.
The company stated that its annualized run-rate revenue has reached $14 billion, growing more than tenfold annually for three consecutive years. Claude Code, one of its core products, has surpassed $2.5 billion in run-rate revenue and more than doubled since the beginning of 2026.
According to a company statement, recent analysis estimates Claude Code now authors 4% of all public GitHub commits worldwide.
The scale of the raise trails only OpenAI’s $40 billion SoftBank-led funding round last year. Musk co-founded OpenAI in 2015 before departing its board in 2018, citing potential conflicts of interest as Tesla expanded its artificial intelligence efforts.
