Tranzmit taps Yellow Card’s stablecoin rails for US-Nigeria payments

Tranzmit Payment Services has integrated Yellow Card’s stablecoin payments API to settle cross-border transfers, starting with its US-to-Nigeria corridor, the companies said Aug. 27, 2026.

Tranzmit, headquartered in the United States, operates across communications and financial services, while Yellow Card is a licensed stablecoin infrastructure provider serving emerging markets.

Through the Yellow Card Payments API, Tranzmit will have access to a direct settlement pathway that uses U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoins to facilitate movement between dollars and local currencies.

The companies said the arrangement is particularly significant for Tranzmit’s U.S. operations as it expands its ability to settle payments abroad, beginning with Nigeria, identified as one of its largest and fastest-growing corridors.

Yellow Card Payments API targets cross-border settlement challenges

Cross-border payments into emerging markets can be complicated by limited access to U.S. dollars, local currency volatility and reliance on traditional banking infrastructure. These factors can increase transaction costs while adding delays and uncertainty to international transfers.

The integration of the Yellow Card Payments API is designed to address some of those challenges by giving Tranzmit a stablecoin-based route into local markets. Under the arrangement, U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoins can be converted into local currency, allowing payments to move through the settlement process with greater speed and predictability.

For customers using Tranzmit’s payment services, the companies said the intended outcome is straightforward: recipients should receive funds faster and with fewer unexpected variations caused by conventional settlement processes.

The development also reflects a wider push by financial technology companies to use digital-dollar infrastructure to simplify international payments, particularly in markets where traditional correspondent banking arrangements can be costly or slow.

Tranzmit said its integration of the Yellow Card Payments API supports its broader objective of making international money transfers more efficient for both individuals and businesses.
