Pump.fun has launched Pump Bridge, its own cross-chain trading solution, on October 21, 2026, aiming to improve transaction speed and reliability for users trading digital assets across multiple blockchain networks.

The Solana-based memecoin launch platform says its new service outperforms Relay, a third-party cross-chain provider previously used for routing trades through its application.

The launch comes as crypto trading platforms compete to provide smoother access to assets across blockchain ecosystems.

According to figures published by Pump.fun, its new infrastructure approximately doubles purchase execution speed and reduces transaction errors by around 92% compared with Relay. The company also says the service currently adds no separate cross-chain bridging fee.

Pump Bridge aims to improve cross-chain execution

Pump.fun says the new service was developed to address problems encountered when users purchased tokens through cross-chain trading routes. These included unsuccessful transactions, slower execution and differences between expected and actual trade outcomes.

In its announcement on X, the company described the product as “2x FASTER, 12x FEWER buy errors,” presenting speed and reliability as its principal advantages over Relay.

Pump.fun reported that its comparison produced a purchase error rate of approximately 0.9% for its new bridge, against 11.2% for Relay. Based on those figures, the error rate was roughly 92% lower with the new service.

The company also reported that its fastest 10% of purchases were completed in approximately 1.23 seconds, compared with 2.75 seconds for Relay’s fastest 10%. Its typical purchase execution time was around 1.95 seconds, while Relay’s median was approximately 3.88 seconds.

These results suggest that the new system could help traders complete swaps more consistently. Nevertheless, execution times can vary according to network conditions, liquidity, transaction size and the blockchain receiving the assets.

Pump Bridge replaces reliance on an external provider

The introduction of Pump Bridge reflects Pump.fun’s effort to exercise greater control over its trading infrastructure rather than relying entirely on an external service.

The company said its comparison was based on testing conducted between September 28 and October 7, 2026. The reported experiment covered cross-chain activity involving Robinhood Chain, BNB Smart Chain, Base, Arc and Ink, excluding Ethereum.

According to the published results, the wider dataset included 416,669 transaction outcomes. Of these, 383,326 transactions were used for execution-time measurements, while a separate sample of 35,333 completed USDC purchases below $500 was used to compare execution performance.

Pump.fun co-founder and chief operating officer Alon explained the company’s motivation in a post on X, saying: “we just want the best experience for users the only way to achieve that was doing it ourselves.”

However, the reported comparison remains company-supplied evidence. Independent testing across different transaction sizes, market conditions and network congestion levels would provide a stronger basis for assessing whether the improvements persist over time.

What Pump Bridge could mean for crypto investors

For traders, the most important potential benefit is better execution rather than speed alone. In fast-moving cryptocurrency markets, a delayed or failed purchase can leave investors exposed to price changes before a transaction succeeds.

Pump.fun reported that the gap between spot prices and the value of tokens received was approximately 17% smaller through its new service in the tested sample. This is a relative reduction in the execution gap, not a universal 17% discount on purchases.

The company also illustrated the potential impact on frequent traders, estimating that a person completing ten $500 trades daily could save approximately $11,000 annually through improved execution compared with Relay.

Pump Bridge currently adds no separate bridging fee, according to Pump.fun. Investors should still distinguish between the absence of an additional bridge charge and the total cost of trading, which can include platform fees, spreads, liquidity-related costs and other applicable charges.

The service’s speed claims also have practical limits. Pump.fun acknowledged in its announcement that cross-chain purchases cannot be instantaneous because transaction instructions must travel between networks and await confirmation.

The company estimated a theoretical minimum execution time of approximately 1.1 seconds under its stated assumptions.

Consequently, Pump Bridge may improve the efficiency of supported transactions, but it cannot eliminate every source of delay, slippage or execution risk.

Pump Bridge adds to Pump.fun’s competitive strategy

The launch strengthens Pump.fun’s attempt to expand beyond its core memecoin-launching business and improve the trading experience available through its application.

Cross-chain functionality allows users to access opportunities across supported networks without treating every blockchain as an entirely separate trading environment.

For a platform serving active speculative traders, reliable transaction routing can be an important part of retaining users and encouraging trading activity.

Investors assessing Pump Bridge should therefore consider the company’s performance claims alongside independent evidence, fee disclosures, supported-network documentation and the risks associated with the tokens they trade.

Conclusion

Pump.fun’s new cross-chain service represents a significant infrastructure upgrade for its trading application, with company-reported improvements in execution speed and purchase reliability.

Whether those gains translate into consistently better outcomes for investors will depend on performance under real-world conditions, transparent cost information and continued reliability across supported networks.
