PrimeXBT has launched an integration that lets traders use ChatGPT and Claude to review accounts, check prices and prepare orders on its CFD and crypto futures platform. Every trade requires the user’s explicit confirmation, and withdrawals and fund transfers are blocked.
The broker announced PrimeXBT MCP on November 4. It uses the Model Context Protocol, a standard that lets AI assistants connect to external software, and launched alongside a Trading API for algorithmic strategies.
PrimeXBT MCP brings AI assistants into trading accounts
The new integration allows traders to interact with their accounts through conversational prompts rather than navigating multiple platform screens to retrieve information.
Users can ask supported AI assistants to review account balances, examine trading history, monitor market prices and access charts. They can also seek explanations of trading conditions, including leverage, margin requirements, fees and platform rules.
By combining live account data with PrimeXBT’s built-in knowledge base, the integration is designed to provide responses relevant to individual trading accounts rather than relying exclusively on general financial information.
This approach could simplify routine trading activities, particularly for users who need to monitor several market indicators or understand the requirements associated with different financial instruments.
The company says the integration is designed for both beginners and experienced traders, although its usefulness will depend on how effectively AI assistants interpret account information and communicate trading conditions.
Commenting on the launch, Jonatan Randin, Senior Market Analyst at PrimeXBT, said:
“AI has become part of everyday life, changing how people access information, use technology and make decisions. We believe trading should evolve in the same direction.”
Randin described the integration as an effort to bring trading information and functionality into AI assistants that users already understand and regularly use.
“With our MCP, we’re bringing real trading data and functionality into the AI assistants people already know and use, making trading more accessible, simplifying complex processes and giving traders greater flexibility in how they interact with markets, while keeping them in control,” he added.
AI-assisted trade execution comes with confirmation controls
Beyond retrieving market information and reviewing account activity, PrimeXBT MCP also supports AI-assisted trade preparation and execution.
The integration allows users to prepare market, limit and stop orders through supported AI assistants. Before an order is submitted, the system can display estimated execution prices, associated fees, margin requirements, leverage and potential liquidation levels.
These estimates are calculated using PrimeXBT’s trading engine, giving users access to platform-specific information when evaluating a proposed transaction.
However, the company has maintained an important distinction between AI-assisted preparation and actual trade execution: every order requires explicit confirmation from the trader before it can be placed.
This requirement is intended to prevent an AI assistant from independently executing transactions without the user’s approval.
The integration also offers two permission levels: Read-only and Read & Trade.
Read-only access allows an AI assistant to retrieve account and market information without placing trades. Read & Trade provides additional functionality for preparing and submitting orders, subject to the platform’s confirmation requirements.
PrimeXBT has also excluded withdrawals and fund transfers from the MCP integration. This means users cannot instruct ChatGPT or Claude to move funds out of their trading accounts through the connection.
The restrictions provide an additional separation between AI-assisted trading activities and access to account funds.
Nevertheless, the introduction of AI-assisted execution raises broader questions about the reliability of automated recommendations, the interpretation of live market information and the risks of allowing conversational interfaces to interact with leveraged financial products.
While confirmation requirements keep traders involved in approving transactions, users remain responsible for assessing the risks associated with their trading decisions.
New Trading API expands automation capabilities
Alongside the MCP integration, PrimeXBT has introduced a Trading API to extend the automation capabilities of its PXTrader 2.0 platform.
Unlike the conversational approach offered by PrimeXBT MCP, the API is designed primarily for technically experienced traders, quantitative analysts and developers who want to connect external applications and automated trading systems directly to their accounts.
The API allows users to build and connect trading bots, develop custom applications, access account and market information programmatically and automate strategies around the clock.
It also supports order and position management, as well as the development of customised dashboards and analytical tools.
To address security concerns, the company says the API includes two-factor authentication, configurable access permissions and optional IP restrictions. Deposits, withdrawals and fund transfers are not supported through the API.
The two products therefore serve related but distinct purposes. MCP provides a natural-language interface for interacting with trading accounts through AI assistants, while the API offers developers greater flexibility to build independent trading applications and automated systems.
The launch builds on PrimeXBT’s continued development of PXTrader 2.0, which supports trading across CFDs and Crypto Futures.
The platform provides access to multiple financial markets, including forex, indices, commodities, shares and cryptocurrencies. It also offers cryptocurrency purchasing, storage and exchange services, alongside fiat and cryptocurrency funding options.
Founded in 2018, PrimeXBT operates as a multi-asset broker and crypto asset service provider, serving traders in more than 150 countries through PXTrader 2.0 and MetaTrader 5.
