Walt, a custodial crypto platform that runs inside Telegram, now lets users buy and sell digital assets with Visa, Mastercard, mobile wallets and local bank transfers through Alchemy Pay, according to a November 3, 2026 announcement from the payments firm.
Alchemy Pay says its network covers 173 countries, though availability depends on each user’s location and the payment methods supported there.
Walt expands beyond its original Telegram wallet offering
The partnership comes as Walt continues to develop its identity as a broader digital asset platform rather than a basic cryptocurrency wallet.
Previously known as Wallet in Telegram, the service officially adopted the Walt name on September 28, 2026. The rebranding followed an expansion of its product offering, which now includes cryptocurrency trading, yield opportunities, tokenized investments and derivatives.
According to the platform’s announcement, Walt supports more than 300 digital assets across four blockchains, including over 200 cryptocurrencies available for trading. Its investment products also cover tokenized stocks, exchange-traded funds and precious metals.
The company has also introduced perpetual futures trading, allowing eligible users to access leveraged positions across cryptocurrency and other supported markets.
Artificial intelligence has become another part of its expansion strategy. On October 20, Walt announced the introduction of AI-powered trading for perpetual futures through Mira, ChatGPT and Claude.
The feature allows connected AI agents to examine market information, assess trading positions and execute certain transactions based on users’ instructions. Users can also configure take-profit and stop-loss orders, while trading permissions and account funding remain subject to the platform’s controls.
Walt founder and CEO Andrew Rogozov previously described the broader shift toward conversational trading interfaces, saying: “Telegram is a natural place for that to happen because people are already there, already communicating and already holding funds with Walt.” The comment reflects the company’s ambition to make increasingly sophisticated financial services accessible through familiar messaging interfaces.
How Walt differs from Telegram’s native wallet
Despite operating within Telegram, Walt and the messaging platform’s own non-custodial wallet are separate products.
Telegram’s native wallet service, identified as Money in the company’s updated ecosystem, is developed by Telegram and focuses on cryptocurrency storage, transfers and payments while allowing users to retain control of their assets.
Walt, by comparison, operates a custodial wallet service. Under this arrangement, the platform manages users’ private keys, alongside its wider collection of trading and investment products.
Walt is accessible through the @walt Telegram account, while the previous @wallet username continues to direct users to the service. The September rebranding did not require existing customers to open new accounts or repeat verification. Their balances, transaction records and wallet addresses remained intact, according to the company’s support documentation.
The two services can also complement one another within Telegram’s financial ecosystem. Walt provides a broader environment for cryptocurrency trading and investment, while Telegram’s native wallet serves a different purpose within the messaging application.
With the latest integration, Alchemy Pay adds another payment route to this expanding arrangement, potentially making it easier for users to move between traditional currencies and supported digital assets.
Alchemy pay builds on earlier crypto payment partnerships
The Walt agreement builds on the payment company’s previous efforts to establish connections with cryptocurrency platforms and blockchain ecosystems.
In September 2024, Alchemy Pay introduced cryptocurrency payment services through The Open Network (TON), the blockchain ecosystem closely associated with Telegram. That earlier integration established a connection with the Telegram-linked crypto environment before the latest move brought fiat payment functionality directly into Walt.
The company subsequently expanded its partnerships beyond Telegram. In March 2025, it partnered with Ledger to integrate its on-ramp and off-ramp services into Ledger Live, allowing users to purchase and sell supported cryptocurrencies through traditional payment methods within Ledger’s desktop and mobile application.
Another expansion followed in September 2025, when the payment provider partnered with xStocks to introduce a tokenized investment platform offering access to more than 60 tokenized US stocks and exchange-traded funds. The service supported fractional investments starting at $1, with funding options including bank transfers, credit cards and mobile payment services.
These developments demonstrate how Alchemy Pay is extending its infrastructure beyond standalone cryptocurrency purchases into wallets, investment platforms and other digital asset services.
In its November 3 announcement, the company also highlighted its regulatory footprint, reporting 19 US Money Transmitter Licenses alongside additional licenses and registrations covering Southeast Asia, South Korea, Europe and the United Kingdom.
The latest integration strengthens its position in the Telegram-linked market, although the companies have not disclosed projected transaction volumes, revenue targets or the expected financial contribution of the partnership.
Ultimately, the agreement reflects a wider industry effort to reduce the friction between conventional finance and cryptocurrency. By connecting familiar payment methods with a platform already offering hundreds of digital assets, the partnership gives Walt users another route into the digital economy while extending the reach of crypto payment infrastructure.
